Fallen Frontier Concept Art

Since this is a blog, let’s not stay strangers. I’m Mike, our art guy. With the help of some great contributors along the way, it’s been my job to drive the art style and visuals of our game and universe. We’re all really passionate about making a pure 2D game, and it’s been a blast getting to work in such a direct medium. Anyway, here’s some art!

These are concepts I’ve done depicting various locations in the Fallen Frontier universe. Each piece here will also be available for you to grab at PAX in the form of a nice oversized postcard including additional information about our fiction.

The story of the game spans two different planets, Ampyx and Caeneus. Both are colonized worlds in the Alpha Centauri B star system. Where Ampyx is an idyllic, Earth-like water world, Caeneus is a harsh place of rain, frequent meteors, and corporate oppression.

Fantastic work! Imaginative and immerse. Not knowing much more about this game these visuals have already sold me on it. Best of luck at PAX East!

Love the art on the project Mike! With all these “2.5D” side scrollers in the market, it’s nice to see a team doing 2D HD graphics.

Saw the Jobs page, and it’s 2 Engineer positions. Are you guys thinking about hiring regular artists soon, or have no plans for that until the end of the project?

Damn these look great. It’s a shame the PAX in our backyard is so far away, I want to get my hands on these right quick.

I would love to see some multiplayer features in your game, not only coop.

I love 2d side scrollers: I’ve been playing “Soldat” since release. Get yourself some multiplayer and lots of guns in it and you’ve got a winner.

    Trust me.

The art work of this game is first rate and it’s what inspired me to visit the site. The game looks blisteringly cool and exactly my sense of style & fun. A first day purchase if i was online. Shame i can’t buy it in stores.
