Graphics Engineer

Moonshot Games is looking for a graphics engineer to design, implement and maintain the graphics system of our proprietary game engine.

As Moonshot’s graphics programmer, it will be your responsibility, in fact your mission, to make it possible for our artists to fully realize their artistic vision in the game, as efficiently and beautifully as possible, all while taking into account the feature set and performance limitations of various platforms (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). Your desire and ability to form strong working relationships with artists are essential in this role, as is your knowledge and understanding of real-time rendering techniques.

Requirements

  • C/C++
  • Strong CS and math fundamentals
  • Expert knowledge of real-time rendering techniques
  • Game-making experience (student or personal projects count)
  • Multi-disciplinary team experience

Pluses

  • Knowledge of Opengl and DirectX and experience developing for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
  • Prior industry experience
  • Familiarity with 3ds Max, Maya, Mel, Python, LUA, C#

Networking Engineer

Moonshot Games is looking for a spectacular networking engineer to do the technical design and programming of our game’s online components, all of which are key features of our title.

As Moonshot’s networking engineer, you will be directly involved in every aspect of the design and development of our game’s online components. Working closely with designers and other engineers, you will be responsible for providing technical insights and guidance to ensure online features are correctly integrated into the overall game.

Requirements

  • C/C++ expert
  • Strong CS fundamentals
  • Game-making experience (student or personal projects count)
  • Multi-disciplinary team experience
  • Expert knowledge of:
    • Client-server and peer-to-peer architectures
    • Network security
    • Basic network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP and UDP)
    • Concurrency & synchronization
    • Handling latency
    • Managing sessions
    • Real-world connectivity issues, NAT / Firewall traversal
  • Experience with memory management, mutli-threading and multiplatform development
  • A commitment to writing the high quality code that networking programming demands

Pluses

  • Prior industry experience
  • Knowledge of basic modular game engine design and implementation
  • Experience with Xbox Live and/or PlayStation Network Platform and their TCRs
